Help Enterprises is a not for profit organisation with a commercial vision. Operating with 150 staff across 9 offices, Help operate a number of business units operating in different markets with a core focus in disability employment & training.

The Challenge/Problem

Help Enterprises had a number of different business units operating as part of the group including manufacturing and horticulture employing people with disability and mental health.

Prior to enlisting the help of R & G, Help had been using a small IT company for over 3 years. As the organisation was continuing to experience significant growth, Help’s management team and staff had become frustrated.

Firstly, the provider was slow to respond to support issues, and problems which were supposedly fixed would sometimes re-occur. Secondly, systems were running poorly which was costing the organisation in lost productivity - particularly at the remote offices.

What we did

R & G Technologies was engaged to review the environment and develop a strategic roadmap for the organisation for the coming three years.

“First we needed to look at the strategic goals of the organisation and create an IT strategy which aligned with the objectives of the organisation” recalls Jason Neville, General Manager of R & G Technologies.

“This involved transitioning the organisation from a local server model which was reliant on head office to a private cloud model and ultimately providing them with a more proactive level of IT support”.

R & G then worked with Help Enterprises on a solution capable of meeting their future requirements:

  • Designed a three year strategic IT plan for the organisation
  • Designed & Implemented a private cloud solution utilising Citrix technology
  • Provided Data Centre hosting for Help’s private cloud environment
  • Implemented a managed WAN
  • Introduced Microsoft SharePoint as a company intranet
  • Provided a “Business Assurance” ongoing support solution
